CEAS EXPO 2024

Serving as one of the two EXPO Chairs on the executive board of CEAS Tribunal for the 2023-24 school year was such a wonderful and rewarding experience.  Planning begins almost a year in advance, meaning we started the 2024 EXPO during the Summer of 2023.

What made this experience extra special was having the opportunity to plan the EXPO alongside my co-chair Jada.  I first got involved in Tribunal my freshman year as an intern, where I shadowed Jada, who was the Communications Chair at the time.  She presented her Capstone at the 2024 EXPO in preparation for her graduation a few weeks later, so this was a full circle moment for both of us: she helped welcome me into CEAS, and I helped plan the final celebratory event to send her off from CEAS.

This role was very important for both of us because it was Tribunal’s first time having an official position for EXPO.  Throughout this year-long planning process, I learned so much and refined valuable soft skills in areas such as time management, teamwork, organization, communication, collaboration, and many more.  I also gained significant amounts of confidence in my own decision-making skills.

In looking back at my experience with EXPO, I believe that playing such a vital role in the event’s planning and execution greatly benefitted me on my first co-op at Marathon Petroleum this past Spring 2024.  Although I had no prior industry-related experience, I approached each task and project I received on co-op with an open mind, ready to learn all that I could.  While planning EXPO in the Fall of 2023, I also had to balance additional responsibilities such as classes, other Tribunal involvements, sorority events, and more.  This skill carried over into my co-op, as I was able to stay organized and on top of my projects while maintaining high-quality and timely work.

I am currently serving as the EXPO Chair for the 2024-25 school year, and planning for the 2025 CEAS EXPO has already begun.  I truly believe I have grown so much in the past year, and my experience with EXPO played a significant role in my professional development.  I look back at this 2024 EXPO with pride on what we were able accomplish as a team, and I'm really looking forward to next year’s EXPO in 2025!
